Accumulated annual score?

If your triv playing is steady, spread more over the year than in concentrated bursts, then you will appreciate a trivia room that accumulates your points into an annual score (as well as a monthly, weekly and daily score) rather than one that re-sets the score every month and starts from scratch the next month.

Unfortunately, very few trivia channels advertise whether they keep annual scores or re-set every month, and if you don't want to experience the disappointment of losing all of your accumulated points when a TrivBot resets for a new month you need to check out this feature before you settle down to play.

PRO:
Accumulated annual scores encourage community spirit. You know that fellow players have a long-term stake in the channel and want your experience to be as pleasant as theirs.

There is no pressure when your points are accumulated. You can go away for a while and come back knowing that you can catch up with others before the end of the year.

CON:

A triv channel with accumulated annual scores still attracts short-term players who just want to rack up a huge monthly score before moving on.

There is no guarantee that the players you start with, and expect to be there with you at the end of the year, have the same expectations as yourself. For this reason, it is wise to wait two months or more before you become too friendly with anyone.

Regular triv plays invest quite a bit of their time in channels - probably spending more time with fellow triv players than they do their own family and friends - so choose your trivia home carefully!
