OPs in Channel?
The number of IRC trivia channels that run without an Operator is quite frightening. If you're just a casual player and have no investment in any particular channel then this feature is not going to bother you,but if you intend to spend a considerable amount of your free time playing trivia then you will most definitely want to choose a room that is manned by a fair-minded OP during your time-slot.
PRO:
An Operator keeps law and order in a room and protects it from being invaded by spammers and abusers.
Players are more likely to mind their manners when an Op is present.
CON:
An Operator can also be mischievous, kicking and banning players at whim. This scenario is more likely if the Op is a competitive player. One way around this is to ensure that the channel has more than one OP - or, better still, to offer OPs to all regular players - which is what one particular new trivial channel is doing - see #trivia at WikkedWire network; Ops gained after 100 correct answers!
